For a once in a lifetime experience you will want to come to the Frio Bat Flight Tour and witness this awesome site as 10 to 12 million Mexican free-tailed bats ascend into the evening sky before sunset at Frio Cave near Concan. This is the second largest bat population in the world open to the public! The Frio Bat Flight is located about 16 miles from Rio Bella Resort.

You may know Lost Maples for its fall color, but it is spectacular year-round. Visit any time to see abundant wildflowers, steep canyon walls and the scenic Sabinal River. It is a beautiful car or motorcycle ride across 337 east, one of the famous Twisted Sisters. Lost Maples is located about 20 miles from Rio Bella (and well worth the drive!).

Garner State Park
Hiking & Nightly Dances
Garner is one of the most popular state parks in Texas (located about 5 miles from Rio Bella) with 1,774 acres of scenic Hill Country terrain and plenty of room to explore. Since the 1940s, young folks (and the young at heart) have been gathering at the park’s concession building on summer evenings for the nightly dances. Arrive early, as parking lots get full and gates can close as early as 8:30 pm during the summer months.

All proceeds from Elm Creek Stables go to funding the Frio Canyon Horse Rescue. Elm Creek Stables is located about 5 miles from Rio Bella.
